We were having so much fun at Amazing Jake's but managed to get Dylan to his hockey game on time! I LOVE watching Dylan skate. Those who know me well will understand just how panicked I was when my camera FAILED...oh yeah...total FAIL. It turns out that I had exceeded the 2 gigs that my camera will put on a memory stick, and I started the day with a newly formatted stick...yikes! It was a big photo and movie day!
Here are the only photos I got of Dylan. He is number 7 and his stick has a red blade. His division is the Squirts and his team is the Lightning. I love when the team sits on the wall waiting for the ice to be ready. They all jump onto the ice and take off...without even falling. That is so impressive to a klutz like me.
He played the Center position so was in the face off each time.
At least I did get a really cool movie before the camera FAILED. Remember...#7 and a red blade...keep your eye on our favorite hockey player!!!!

Grandpa Is "Toast"
Amazing Jake's is a fabulously fun indoor amusement park with rides and games and mini golf and a great buffet with lots of kid-pleasing food.
We're leaving for the day soon but I wanted to post these few fun photos from yesterday...here's the story. Grandpa and the grands loved the bumper cars! By the end of the day there was some disagreement though. Grandpa claimed that he was the best and the kids were "toast" while they claimed that they were the best and Grandpa was "toast." He even named them "white toast" "wheat toast" and "multi-grain toast" during their discussions about who was really "toast."
Here is a photo of the four of them on the bumper cars. It was tough to photograph because the interior was dark with black lights.

This morning, while Grandpa was outside, Shelby and Jackson decided to make it official that Grandpa is "toast"!!!!
Can you see how much he loved it!!!

Time Flies When...
...we're having so much fun! We have been so busy just being here with Sandee, Shawn, & our grands!
We played at the park near their house.
There are new games to learn...
And stories to share...
Our new granddog, Dexter, met Dora & Bella just moments before this movie was taken. Even more fun than watching the antics of the three dogs as they play together is listening to the giggles of our three precious grandkids as we all watch the dogs.
We played at the park near their house.
And, of course, Grandma & Grandpa brought surprise gifts for all!

ARIZONA!!!
We are here and will see the kids tomorrow!
Isn't Arizona pretty?
We had great, fun times getting here but are happy we'll be staying put for a couple of weeks. Now our great, fun times will be with the kids! As a friend of mine would say...YAHOOTEY!

A Deep Blanket of White
It resembles snow in several ways.
At first the road was paved
But then it became this...
You would slip, slide, and sink down in to it while going up and down the slopes. Here's Rich at the top of a hill with our motorhome and car in the parking lot below.
Kids of all ages...
...were sledding down the slopes and climbing back uphill over and over again.
Plows were steadily working...
...to keep the roadways clear and passable.
The wind created amazingly detailed sculptures in the drifts.
At one area there is a series of boardwalks that led me out over unspoiled terrain.

Where's Rich?
This "bar" was my very favorite installation work of art at Roswell's Anderson Museum of Contemporary Art when we were there yesterday.
I especially loved the colors and shapes of the bottles on the mirrored back bar. Here are a few closeups of that section of the "bar". Let's all play Where's Rich. Can you find him in each of these photos?
Remember, you can always enlarge a photo by double clicking on it. I had a blast taking this series of photos! Thanks for playing along!

Roswell ~~ A Day of Museums
Who knew? Not us. But we LOVED Roswell, NM! We just thought it would be a kick to drop down into Roswell this trip and check out the UFO Museum. Most of the photos taken there were used in pieces in my posts about the aliens. In addition to the UFO stuff, the town itself is lovely. And, there are two more great museums, the Roswell Museum and Art Center houses twelve galleries dedicated to the exhibition of art and history of the southwest including great pieces of fine art; fantastically detailed bronze sculptures; an expansive exhibit about Dr. Robert H. Goddard the Father of Space Exploration, including some of his missiles and his machine shop; and hundreds of items of vintage Indian and military clothing, boots, weapons, saddles, etc.
But the museum that captivated us was the Anderson Museum of Contemporary Art. Spacious, light-filled galleries exhibit paintings, sculptures, installation pieces, etc. This was my favorite painting...
With Hoover Dam in the background, this painting depicts a new homes development near Las Vegas and throughout the painting water is being used for a large number of non-native purposes. With my fears about the future for the large populations who live in currently-tamed but naturally hostile environments, I could look at it for hours.
I'll hold my comments and appraisals of other pieces but do want to give you a brief tour of this fabulous museum. Here are two of the galleries...
And just a very few of our favorite pieces...

Indulge me, just for the cuteness...the baby shark is a hand vacuum cleaner and the larger one a golf club bag. There were two other golf club bag sharks swimming in this group too!

Oh Deer; Oh Me
I have so much to share from our amazing museum-filled day in Roswell yesterday and our fantastic visit to White Sands National Monument today that it will take a while to select photos from the many. For now, I'll just share a couple from today.
Oh Deer ~~ We absolutely LOVE seeing wildlife along the road and these deer loping along the highway hillside this morning were such a treat!

Oh Me ~~ It appears that if you hang out with an alien long enough, you begin to look like him!

What Was Your Guess?
If it was Roswell, NM you are correct! Roswell is the home of the 1947 UFO incident. We've already been on the road for a while this morning and I'm relieved to report that Rich is back to normal...well all except for those alien eyes!

UFOs & Aliens
With these clues, can you guess where we're Meandering now?
This is but one of the UFOs we've seen here.
This alien arrived on the spaceship above...really. What, you're having doubts?
Well then, how do you explain this alien foot? I've never seen anything like this before.
And if you need even more proof, just look what they've done with Rich.
He keeps changing color and the aura of his skin reflects on his surroundings. No I'm not afraid...do you think I should be? I just hope he can safely drive in this condition.
Have you figured out where we are?
