Father's Day

Sunday, June 17, 2012

When we got up Sunday morning, we took a deep collective breath, looked around, and thought...what?...no plans??...no plans for days??? As we straightened the house after the family gathering the evening before, we had left one air mattress up and brought it into the family room for a perfect spot to watch TV. Actually, one or more of the kids ended up sleeping on it the rest of the time they were here.

After breakfast, I had the kids make a movie wishing their dad a Happy Father's Day. This was their stage and their movie was very sweet.

They also colored post cards of the St. Louis Arch to send their folks; we had not had time for projects like this before, since our days had been packed with scheduled plans.

Greg and Jenny came out for a while. None of the guys wanted to go but Jenny, Shelby, and I went over to our pool and swam for awhile.

Shelby has been taking lessons and I was thrilled to see how well she has mastered several new strokes.

Amid all that relaxing and quietly hanging out, I didn't get even one photo of Rich on Father's Day...tsk tsk.
