Am I a Lucky Woman?

If you have followed my blog for very long, you have read here that I feel like the luckiest woman alive...every day. This image is a photo of a get well card received this week from neighbors back home. You see, I've had a bit of bad luck.

This is my song for Christmas 2012....

"Grandma got run over by a Mazda,
Christmas shopping on December 12th.
Oh, what will we do about Christmas?
Turns out Grandpa's quite a perfect elf!"

Yes, I was a pedestrian in a shopping center when hit by a vehicle. Now I'm living at our daughter's house in a hospital bed in the family room with a wheelchair and a walker for transportation. My right ankle was severely mangled which required extensive surgery so it must remain elevated and no weight can be placed on it. I am surrounded by family and of course Rich is doing EVERYTHING for everybody. He stays at the motorhome with the girls and drives back and forth to take care of me.

Even though we are losing months of simply being together, missing all the activities planned for this winter, unable to spend time with our winter friends, and enduring much pain there are always a multitude of things for which to feel grateful.

I do send my warmest wishes to you  and yours for a healthy and loving, Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!
