On this date 25 years ago, R & I met in Denver and traveled by bus to Aspen for our first ski vacation together. He was a beautifully experienced skier and I had never been on skis. After checking in our hotel, we walked to a ski shop to rent skis, boots, & poles for me.
On the way, I searched for a pay phone (remember this was 25 years ago) so that I could use my calling card (again, 25 years ago) to call home to see if I was an aunt yet...had my sister given birth? YES, my nephew was born on that day as I traveled west. HAPPY 25th BIRTHDAY RY!!!
What a momentous day that was...so very many firsts!

January 5, 1985 was the VERY best day EVER, when an adorable 7 1/2 pound, 21" long boy entered the world. Believe me, during a good part of that day, I wished I was off skiing in Colorado! It was all worth it, though, to have my little guy come into my life and light up my world. Bev, who were those young looking kids in the picture you posted?
ReplyDeleteYeah, in the last 25 years we've changed a lot from "those young looking kids" but not as much as your 7 1/2 pound, 21" long baby boy!
