Just a Traveling Day

Sunday, September 2, 2012

Again I find myself in catch-up mode. The last two nights have been wasted trying to upload a cool movie I took on Monday, to no avail. Sunday was just a get up and go driving day. We left Glenwood Springs and traveled to Canon City, CO where we are parked near the entrance to the Royal Gorge. Rich chose a back-roads route along the Colorado River, the Eagle River, past the ski slopes of Breckenridge, up tightly curving steep mountain roads, past Quandary Peak, over Hoosier Pass on the Continental Divide, beside groves of golden aspen, past a herd of buffalo, under a brilliant blue sky filled with white clouds, and of course we saw great scenery.

After we got the RV and the girls settled, we drove over to Royal Gorge. The parking lots were full, the bridge was packed with people, and it was late in the afternoon so I just picked up info and we decided that Tuesday would be a better day...#11 on the list of great things about retirement...Scheduling Flexibility!
