and then we took the 295 around Jacksonville to the I-95 which looked like this...
Yeah, this is the same picture as above because the trees and bushes and vines and moss grow insanely along the interstates in this humid heat so with one picture you can see all the scenery along that drive...
I was toying with the idea of suggesting that we skip Florida and go somewhere with some water and some scenery when we came upon this, the Buckman Bridge over the St. Johns River...and what a river that is; it looks like a big lake.
So refreshed by seeing that beautiful river was I that, even though we still had miles and miles of that dense plant growth drive ahead, it seemed like no time at all until we saw this, our destination for the next two nights, Daytona Beach.
After we parked, unhooked the car, and set up the RV (I'm sure Rich loves my constant use of the word "we" when referring to all the work of RVing!) we loaded the girls in the car to meander around Daytona a bit. After locating the public access point to the beach, we made a pit stop at Krispy Kreme and then found the Daytona Speedway...our daughter and her family love the NASCAR thing so our grands think we are "lucky" just to be here at this awesome speedway!
Rich just told me that he set the alarm for 5:30 AM...yikes, I thought this was a vacation!
Florida highways are sure a lot different than good ol' I-57 through IL huh?!?! =) Sounds like you guys are having a great time so far.
