I didn't want this to get lost in my long post about the day's "Magnolias" so I'm doing another quick post of this cool incident we were lucky enough to observe...timing, such timing.

See this alligator? Watch what happens next.

It is swimming slowly but steadily toward the Snowy Egret on the left.

See its head? Just look at how close it is to its prey!

As our boat got too close, the Snowy Egret took flight and the alligator dived, leaving nothing but this swirling, frothy water in its wake.

 Isn't that just fabulous?
