San Antonio's Riverwalk Holiday Parade

This was the most eagerly anticipated activity we had planned for our stay here in San Antonio, the Holiday River Parade along the Riverwalk. We were so lucky to get a dinner reservation at one of the restaurants on Riverwalk because they clear the entire area around 3:30 and it was packed with people. Then from 5:00 until well after the parade, only those with reservations are allowed in. We stayed down there near our restaurant during the closure so it was cool to see that place empty except for the bustling crews at the restaurants.

This is the Riverwalk scene most often published.

At our table along the river at The Original Mexican Restaurant. Our fixed price evening included a delicious appetizer, dinner, and dessert. We had to pay extra for the Margaritas...of course!

Here are a few of the floats in the Holiday River Parade.

When the Chick-fil-A float came past, the crowd chanted "Eat mor chikin!" which was also printed on the backs of the cows' shirts...so fun! Have you seen their billboards?

Oh Look! It's Santa!!!

Not only is Riverwalk all decked out for the holidays, downtown buildings are too. Here are two of the hotels!

The holidays are here!
