Hello Holland Lake

On Monday we said goodbye to the Tetons and drove Hwy 26 out of Jackson to I-15 through a bit of Idaho to Butte, MT.

As you can see, Bella made sure that Rich kept on course.
Butte has a seemingly infinite number of casinos, most of which are in small stucco sided buildings of about 1,000 square feet. Every gas station and restaurant has a casino inside. We parked at Wal-Mart for the night and did some shopping there. There is nothing to recommend a stop in that town...and I'll say no more.

Yesterday we finished our drive to Holland Lake north of Missoula, MT. Missoula is a fine town with good shopping where we stocked up on necessities for the next few days.

We fell in love with this little lake hidden in a forest when we passed through here on our way to Glacier National Park years ago. There is no phone service so we drove about 50 miles today to call Shelby and sing Happy Birthday to her. While here and connected, I also wanted to let everyone who is following us know that we are out of reach until at least Saturday. If our explorations take us back into cell range, we will of course check for messages.

As we drove down the dirt road toward Holland Lake, both of the girls were curious enough to leave the couch and watch the drive through the windshield.

This is what they saw...

And now we have Meandered back to this spot that we so fondly remembered all these years.
Lovin' Life ~~ With Fond Memories,
